Houston we have a problem, this is an SOS, and our last communique in this form. We need to start asking the right questions..
If Chris Dorner showed us anything this month, it’s what not to do when you feel backed into a corner. Instead of taking a stand for rights he felt long denied, like MLK did earlier this century, Chris chose to kill. If we’ve learned anything this century from the back to back crusades against civil and human injustices it’s that peace accomplishes more than violence. Gandhi proved this by freeing India from British occupation without striking…

*Brian Bentley, 49, doesn’t agree with what Christopher Dorner — the ex-cop at center of a massive manhunt for the killings of three people—has done, but he certainly understands it.
As a former LAPD officer, Bentley, who is now an author, says that a Dorner-like situation was just a matter of time.
“It took longer than I thought it would for something like this to happen.”
In fact, Bentley says that when he was a police officer, there were frequent positings of “look out” bulletins on the walls at police stations featuring officers who’d been terminated and who were believed…
What lead to Christopher Dorners actions this past week, is the open discussion we’ll begin tonight at 9pm EST via twitter hashtag #CopChat. We want to hear from you, your opinions, thoughts and input, whether you are an active or retired officer, civilian or member of the armed forces.
Chris left a lengthy manifesto (below) in his wake describing problems beginning with childhood bullying and racism, to internal corruption within his department and on to what he perceived as an almost continuing cycle of bulling and racism that ultimately lead to what he describes as a completely unfair firing from…

Hurricane Sandy hit hard and fast and the response has been extraordinary. From FEMA to Grassroots Organizations, down to individual residents themselves. Everyone is helping out, with recovery efforts, but even with this overwhelming response, there was a lack of information sharing during the storm and people were left in the dark.
Danny, the civilian founder of the Occupy group ‘Occupy Police’ @OccupyPolice on twitter (which worked on calming tension between police and protesters during the height of the occupy protests) started a twitter account named @HC_Sandy (Now @SandyVolunteer) to keep people updated by the minute before…

Imagine Auckland Council had a secretary of right-wing leanings and associations. Imagine the secretary was known to boast about their aptitude at Facebook and imagine that this spilled over into their work hours, where they periodically got their social media fix on their employer’s time, eventually graduating to trolling the Facebook page of representatives of a political movement, democratically protesting outside the doors of the Council office.
Imagine the secretary used their public profile to deride, demean and harass the protesters; advocating the use of ‘Alsatians’ and ‘water cannons’ and then climactically gloating in real time during their violent eviction,…

Article Via (Reuters) – Greece’s largest police union has threatened to issue arrest warrants for officials from the country’s European Union and International Monetary Fund lenders for demanding deeply unpopular austerity measures.
In a letter obtained by Reuters Friday, the Federation of Greek Police accused the officials of “…blackmail, covertly abolishing or eroding democracy and national sovereignty” and said one target of its warrants would be the IMF’s top official for Greece, Poul Thomsen.
The threat is largely symbolic since legal experts say a judge must first authorize such warrants, but it…
